Course Description

The human mouth is one the most expressive and flexible parts of the body. Every person's mouth is unique. When we build and sculpt the mouths for our characters, we try to achieve the same kind of individuality, while keeping to the same structural elements. This course will cover the basic shapes and lines of the mouth that are important to remember when creating a human's mouth. ZBrush will be used to quickly block out the lips using DynaMesh and inserted tubes. Then we'll define the areas around the lips, such as the vermilion border. Finally, we will rebuild the mesh with a cleaner topology. We will also discuss how to detail geometry that is very close together, such as the lips, and methods for building up the surrounding area. The final detail will be added to the lips. You'll gain a better understanding about the structure of your mouth and be able to create and shape mouths for your characters. ZBrush 4R software required
