This course will teach you how to create a 3D sneaker using ZBrush. The base model will be created. This is also known as the wood mould in the industry. This part is important because it will be used to extract all the leather panels that will make the final shoe.
You will learn how each layer of leather can be removed using the ZBrush masking pen, lasso, and inflate deformation instrument. You will also learn how to add thickness to the panels by using ZBrush panel loops.
ZBrush allows for over two hours of detailed sneaker shaping
This course covers all aspects of shoe sculpting, including reference using ZBrush's see-through feature, ZBrush masking using pen and lasso brushes tools, and finally, how to use Zmodeler, panel loops, and Zmodeler to add details such as stitching using curve brushes, and finally exporting the model to Sketchfab so that it can be presented as a 3D sculpt.
These are the topics covered in the course:
-
Extract plus is used to extract and create all the shoe sections
-
Learn how to add thickness with panel loops
-
Polish by feature to clean our extracted Meshes
-
Learn how to use live boolean
-
Use curve brushes to add details such as stitching and laces
-
Learn how to use Zmodeler
The following formats contain all 3d files for the shoe.
I have also included my ZBrush custom-UI
I will share with you my favorite plugins and brush curves that are used almost every time I work on a project.
We will be extracting the panels from the 3D shoe using Extract +, which you can download here

While you can create these panels without the plugin, I have recorded a short video so you can see the difference between the workflows, you will find the video titled 11-Extract_plus_why.mp4 in your lessons folder.
Once all panels are created, we can add details such as stitching. Zbrush has many ways to create stitching. I will be using these beautiful curve brush created by Mohamed Alsadany

To make these shoes even more amazing, I will be using a set Alex Vasin's beautifully made curve brushes. You can download them here

I hope you find it useful!
