Course Description

Children learn to communicate, collaborate, and understand the perspectives of others. This helps them develop critical skills and a greater understanding of themselves and their feelings. This course by the LEGO Foundation is three weeks long and will teach you how to make social interactions work for your maximum benefit. Learning through play is vital for children's development. Children have an incredible natural ability to learn about the world around them. This course will focus on play-based activities that encourage children to connect with other children, share their feelings and work as a group. These skills are vital for children's academic success, wellbeing, and lifelong learning. You'll find examples throughout the course that demonstrate how children can use play to foster collaboration and social learning skills. These include dialogue, belonging, and taking risks. This course will explain the benefits of learning through play and how you can bring them into your classroom. Social and collaborative learning activities are simple to use in groups. You will also be given detailed instructions on how to facilitate them so you can develop dialogue and interaction. The LEGO Foundation works to inspire social learning by changing the hearts and minds that are involved in child development. It's perfectly placed to help you find activities that will inspire creativity, engagement, and lifelong learning in children.
