Course Description

This course will teach you how storytelling is a key mechanism to drive video gaming forward. You will examine a variety of historical and current games and be asked to interpret and evaluate different story styles in order to identify themes and processes for your own game ideas. We will examine the traditional narrative structure of three-act structure and how it fits into game story flow and strategic elements. You will ultimately learn how to establish character, setting, structure, and gameplay concepts that are compelling.
