Course Description

Volunteer community health workers (CHWs), are an important strategy to increase access and coverage for basic health interventions. The village health worker training course focuses on the training and continuing education for CHWs. This is an important part of engaging communities in their health service delivery. Participants will learn how to plan training and continuing education activities for their village volunteers. This course is based on real-life examples such as community-directed onchocerciasis controls, village health worker programs and community case management efforts. It also includes peer educators programs and patent medicine vendors training programs.
