Course Description

This Blender tutorial will show you how to use the different UV tools in Blender. The UVs and the UV layouts are essential for creating textures in 3D models. The UV information is used to link the 3D objects that we create with the 2D textures we apply before rendering. Blender can tell UVs how to apply textures across a surface. Having a well-designed UV layout can make a big difference in speeding up texture creation and making it easier to edit later. Before we get into the details of UVs, we'll first discuss the basics. Then, we'll move on to the various UV projection methods. We will also discuss editing UVs and multiple projections. To help us texturize, we'll be covering the output of reference files. This Blender training will give you a better understanding about UVs and the skills you need to create and edit your own UV layouts. Blender 2.72b is required.

By the end of this Blender training you'll have a better understanding of the purpose behind UVs and the knowledge you need to start creating and editing your own UV layouts

Learn to utilize them beneficially in our projects

Software required Blender 2

The UV information serves as a bridge between the 3d objects we create and the 2d textures that we apply before rendering

UVs and UV layouts are important aspects of creating textures for our 3D models

UVs let us tell Blender how to apply the textures across the surface so having a good UV layout can really make a difference in speeding up the texture creation process and making your textures easily editable down the pipeline

We'll also talk about editing UVs and using multiple projections

We'll cover the output of reference files to give us a guide when texturing

We'll start by talking about the basic concept of UVs before moving on to learn about some of the different UV projection methods
