Course Description

Explore what it means for you to be human and how you make sense of the world

What does it really mean to be human? How can we acquire knowledge? How can we make sense of the world?

This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to answer these big questions. You will be able to examine the complexity of the world today and engage in discussions about the major ideas that underpin humanities subjects.

You will also acquire the foundational skills necessary for the study of the humanities. This includes evidence-based problem solving and intercultural awareness.

I'm a Senior Lecturer at UON and the author of Doubtful Readers (OUP, 2020). I'm interested in the ways the material forms literary texts take (print, manuscript, digital) shape their meanings.
