National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Sonepat, Haryana was developed and introduced by the Food Sector of Government of India to be a "One Stop Provider" for solving all the problems related to the sector. The institute was established in the year 2012. The National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Sonepat, Haryana, functions under the Ministry of Food Processing Industry (MoFPI) and extends its help to the various stakeholders, food businesses, and industries currently working in the food sector. The NIFTEM campus is spread out on an area of 100 acres and is well-equipped with all the modern facilities which are needed by the food sector as well for the students for their comprehensive understanding of the various disciplines associated with food technology and food management. As per the NIRF ranking 2021 for the engineering category, National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Sonepat has been ranked 148 and in the year 2020, it was ranked 121 in the engineering category.
