The Assistant Quantity Surveyor is responsible for providing support to the Quantity Surveyor in all aspects of cost management on construction projects. They will assist with the preparation of estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts, as well as the measurement and valuation of variations to the contract. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely cost reporting, analysis, and cost control measures. They will assist in the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, as well as the negotiation and administration of contracts. Additionally, the Assistant Quantity Surveyor will help in the preparation of tender documents, including bill of quantities and contract conditions, and assist with tender evaluation and analysis. They will conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, assess work quality, and ensure compliance with specifications, regulations, and contractual obligations. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will also contribute to the resolution of any contractual disputes or claims, providing support with gathering documentation and analysis. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with 0-3 years of experience in the United Arab Emirates industry, your main responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for construction projects. Collaborate with senior quantity surveyors to analyze project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates and budgets.
  • Conducting quantity takeoffs and measurements of materials and labor. Utilize industry-standard software and tools to quantify and measure materials and labor required for construction projects.
  • Assisting in the procurement process by preparing tender documents and evaluating subcontractor bids. Support senior quantity surveyors in preparing and managing tender documents and evaluating subcontractor bids for construction projects.
  • Assisting in the preparation of progress reports and cost control measures.
