The technician performs plant-wide electrical maintenance and makes all necessary running adjustments, repairs, overhauls, and replacements of parts. Electronics engineering technicians maintain, repair, and install wires and cables as well. Participating in team meetings is generally part of this position.The electronics engineering technician position usually requires a minimum five years’ related experience, as well as a technical school degree and an apprenticeship. The electronics engineer must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to interact with individuals at all levels in the organization, and the ability to train lower-level technical personnel. The technician usually must hold a valid driver's license, as travel to work sites is often required. Excellent communication and multitasking skills are required for electronics engineering technicians.
