The Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Directors are accountable for overseeing the organisation's information system for human resources that includes the configuration of the system and maintenance of security. An undergraduate degree in Information Technology (IT) or an equivalent field, and previous experience is usually required for this job.
HRIS directors collaborate closely with employees from the department of information technology (IT) as well as human resource (HR) departments. Experience working with PeopleSoft and a working knowledge of SuccessFactors, Workday, Taleo, or SAP are extremely beneficial and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs may be necessary for this job. HRIS directors could have to also travel for their company branches.
