A senior human resource manager requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving capabilities and the ability to manage the relationships between employees and customers. A lot of knowledge in strategic planning is required for this job, since the position will often involve the manager working with various businesses. This job also requires a high professional skills and an ability to interact with other members within the company structure.
A top human resource manager must have a significant amount of management experience. At least seven years of experience in management generally is preferable, but often more is needed. Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Access are usually necessary. Most often, an undergraduate degree and an MBA is required.
