Hospital pharmacists dispense medicines in a hospital environment. Basic computer skills are necessary in order to carry out tasks such as data entry to enter patient and dispensing information. It is also important to be proficient with both manual and automated dispensing techniques.All duties should be carried out in accordance with local and federal laws and regulations for pharmaceutical practices and the employer. Both part-time and full-time positions are available; hours may vary, and late-night or weekend hours may occasionally be required, as this work is carried out in a hospital environment where pharmacists are always needed. Some employers will accept those with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, while others require a doctorate degree.
