Description

A user acceptance testing (UAT) analyst is responsible for managing user acceptance testing for releases and new projects within their organization, as well as developing test cases with users, product managers, and other teams. They are also in charge of collaborating with product managers and software development teams to suggest new designs and standards for various applications, assisting other analysts and teams with mockups and wireframes for a project, and staying up to date with current design patterns and trends in technology. Other tasks performed by the UAT analyst include providing feedback and changes once user acceptance testing has taken place and building relationships with all the teams with which they are working. This position is generally full time and takes place in an office setting. UAT analysts mostly work with the business analysts and software development teams in order to complete a project.

Requirements for becoming a user testing analyst includes at least a bachelor’s in engineering, computer science, or a related field, as well as experience in software design and user acceptance testing. UAT testers should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to create strong relationships in a professional setting, the ability to multitask, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with various programming languages; the languages required may vary widely from position to position, and being able to pick up any language quickly is highly beneficial.
