A director of the advertising account serves as an intermediary between the client's organization and the different departments that create advertising products. The account director is responsible for helping determine what is required to develop a successful marketing strategy for the client. They conduct conversations with the client as well as study of the competitors. They assist the client in understanding how the director's business can assist them in achieving success, and may also conduct marketing, typically with the assistance of a sales or marketing department, in order to acquire new customers and explore new markets.
