Electrical supervisors are experienced electricians who oversee a team of electricians. The supervisor’s job is to motivate those working under them and instruct them how to perform job duties. The typical responsibilities for electrical supervisors on a day-to-day basis are making schedules, assigning work to staff members, training employees, motivating electricians, increasing productivity in the workplace, and making sure that all workplace goals are met. Some other duties include making sure that equipment is being maintained and handled properly, assisting electricians with installations and repairs, designing electrical systems and circuits, and helping put together improved designs and processes for the other workers to follow. A typical electrical supervisor works indoors in their organization's office and outside of their office (in indoor and outdoor settings) conducting installations and repairs. Electrical supervisors are expected to be on their feet and in uncomfortable positions for long periods of time as they assist other electricians.
