A strategic analyst is responsible for identifying the needs of their business and developing plans to determine the overall direction it should take to succeed. These analysts are employed in a variety of fields, though they are typically found in the IT, financial, banking, computer, and business fields.Those in this position normally work in an office during traditional business hours, Monday through Friday. A Bachelor’s degree in an area such as Business, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field is generally required for this position, and many employers now require a Master’s degree. Most employers also require several years of relevant experience, and many provide additional training within the field.A strategic analyst is primarily responsible for developing key business decisions and solutions by gathering, reviewing, and testing data in a number of ways.
