Infrastructure analysts are accountable for coordinating and directing the life-cycle and maintenance of the IT infrastructure, which includes storage, servers, and other components of systems management. This involves running a variety of technical and complex projects to assess the long-term viability of the management of systems and plans as well as being required to design and build infrastructures, and supervise their maintenance.

Infrastructure analysts should be able to ensure the availability of their systems by making backups and redundant systems integrated into the system through updates, patches and preventive maintenance.
