A manager assistant in the industry of fast-food is accountable for overseeing the operations of a fast-food restaurant usually under the direction of the general manager. The person in this position is responsible for managing an entire line of employees who are responsible for tasks such as cooking food, cleaning and assisting customers with their orders. The assistant manager should be able to carry out the line-level tasks, and they have to ensure that these duties are completed successfully and possibly take over the line.

A lot of fast food establishments are open all day. The assistant manager should be able to work from a variety of hours and must be able to work at a variety of times beginning dawn to late into the late at night. They are required to work

The majority of their work is inside the restaurant however, they can also perform specific tasks outside of the restaurant, such as taking care of garbage and accepting deliveries. The person in charge must be able to operate kitchen equipment that is industrial such as grills and deep fryers. They must also be able to teach employees on how to operate this equipment. The assistant manager should ensure an environment that is safe for the team members by providing education and guidance as needed.

This job requires excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Assistant managers are accountable for guiding employees and ensuring high-quality customer service. Problems with customer service that are complex could be transferred up to an assistant manager who has to follow the restaurant's rules and procedures to ensure that the problem is solved and that the customer is happy.

High school graduation or equivalent qualification is needed for this job. Experience as a supervisor in fast food restaurants is highly recommended, however it is not necessary.
